Who Travels
A Doctor Who Inspired Travel Agency
During my time in the Web Design Certificate Program at Loyola, I worked on a collaborative project alongside two classmates to create a full website. The prompt and parameters for the website allotted for a lot of creativity and freedom in what we put out, so we decided to have some fun with the concept and created a travel site that was inspired by the T.V. show Doctor Who, with time and space travel options throughout the (theoretically) known universes.
My Role
While the conception and coding of our project were a collaborative team effort, we also played to our individual strengths. For me, this meant taking charge as the lead designer for the project. I spearheaded the initial design and layout of the website, creating comprehensive wireframes using Figma to establish a coherent visual structure. In addition, I crafted the site's logo, favicon, and various design elements, meticulously curating the color scheme, font choices, and layout for a seamless user experience.
Collaborative Effort
As a cohesive team, we collaborated closely on both the codebase and the project's overarching concept. Our synchronized efforts were channeled through GitHub, offering a valuable learning experience in seamless code collaboration and review processes. Utilizing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, we navigated the intricacies of web development to bring our vision to life.
First Team-Built Success
'Who Travels' marked a significant milestone as my inaugural team-built website. It was an enriching experience diving into the collaborative process, navigating complexities, and witnessing our collective efforts materialize into a functioning digital space.
The project taught me the importance of effective teamwork, solidified my design skills, and ignited a passion for conceptualizing immersive digital experiences. 'Who Travels' stands as a testament to the fusion of imagination, technical prowess, and collaborative spirit—a journey through time and space we embarked upon as a team.
